Angels

Angels Guide

'Can I touch an angel?' Would a kid ask. 'No' would be the answer, 'though you can feel it, for angels are around us'. To tell the truth only few were lucky enough to see angels with own eyes.

Angels are supernatural creatures that can live in Heaven or on mountain peaks (for more information see angels in other religions). According to the angel etymology the word means 'a holy one', 'a maiden of God', 'a messenger of God' who delivers His instructions or recommendations, or warnings. Do you remember the story of Babylon Tower? Angels can be referred to as  God ministers. There is even a special field of theology that studies angels, their hierarchy and purposes, and it's called angelology.

Almost in all the world religions one can find angels mentioned. To be exact, angels exist in Zoroastrianism, that is an ancient religion of Persia supposing that there's an ever-lasting battle between the good and the evil, and people should take part in this battle so that the good will win. An individual guardian angel is named Flavashi and each person has his or her own Flavashi. To tell the truth the question of the number of one guardian angel's 'protegees' remains unanswered. For some people believe that one angel is responsible for several individuals, while the other suppose that one angel is in charge of one person' life and soul.

As for the angel in Christian culture approach, it is believed that angels were created at the very moment when the earth. But humanity appeared a little later.  Angels are fairly often mentioned in the Bible with a lot of characters seeing or being rescued by them. Angels in the Tanakh and Islam are named in almost the same way, for the former it's 'malach' and for the latter 'malak'. In the Tanakh it is thought that angels are god's representatives on the earth. The evil angels in Islam are called jinns and they can exist as well as good angels. The rational approach is the feature of the angels in Jewish culture method, it emerged for rabbis were afraid that some day people would worship angels more than the Lord.

Angels have certain primary purposes to serve. Among angels' functions the following are worth mentioning:

  • they announce good events and warn people in order to avoid bad things happening;
  • angels protect and save, help and rescue people;
  • they make records about good and evil deeds and let God know of  this records on the Day of judgment;
  • they minister God and deliver His words to prophets, Muhammed and Baha'i were seen by angels in order to spread the Afflatus all over the world.
Trusting in God means the faith in angels. They are with us, just keep your eyes open...
